Corrections and new evidence
The most valuable message this desk receives is a correction. A figure transcribed loosely, a trial that has since reported, a hazard ratio quoted without its confidence interval, a regulatory status that has moved, or a peer-reviewed study that belongs on the reference list — each of those improves the record, and each is read and weighed.
Corrections are easiest to act on when they name three things: which page and section, the exact passage in question, and the supporting source, ideally with a resolvable identifier. In that shape a proposed change can be checked against its origin before anything is rewritten. Substantive corrections are made to the page itself rather than appended as a note, because a briefing that is wrong in the body and right in a footnote is still wrong.
